Casinos

Las Vegas Casinos. There's just something about them. The smells, the people, the atmosphere. I am not sure why but I always compare casinos near my hometown to those of Las Vegas, and believe me when I say there is no comparison. Sure, it's all about having a good time, but there's just something about a Las Vegas casino that's different. Maybe it's the dry desert air outside, maybe it's that rather than playing with near neighbors, I get the chance to play with more people from around the world.

All in all, practically every casino that Las Vegas resorts have to offer are similar. They all have craps, roulette, blackjack, poker rooms, and slots. However, the casino portion of my blog is not about what games these places offer; it's the ambiance. Each resort casino has such a unique feel to it that I just had to create a space in order to describe them all. Of course, I will refresh this page as often as I visit, but take the time to really see what atmosphere appeals to you most. By all means, I suggest that everyone visit them all, but I guarantee that after a visit or two, each of you will find out which one(s) are the most appealing. Enjoy!

Excalibur -
Looking for some great gaming that's not really high end stakes 24/7, the Excalibur is the place to go. I can honestly say it's one of the places I've seen the most $5 buy in table games consistently. Dealers and Pit crews are definitely some of the most laid back and fun I have ever seen. I can recall playing at one craps table with friends for nearly two and a half hours. Man, we opened that table up and did work. It wasn't just us winning though that kept us around, but rather the crew we had were some of the most hospitable I had ever seen. Usually, if one opens a table or joins a table at the Excalibur, odds are it's going to be a fun crowd. So, if you don't take your gambling too seriously and enjoy laughing, drinking, and cheering every so often, definitely make this a stop on your visit.

Just don't mind the fact that you may trip over a small child en route to a table game near the back of the casino as this resort is probably one of the most family friendly I have ever witnessed. With a wide array of games and usually pretty speedy service (in regards to cocktails), I definitely make the Excalibur a frequent stopping point during my afternoons while visiting Las Vegas.

The Venetian -
Want luxury while you gamble, then you HAVE to see the Venetian's casino. It is quite the place to play. Lower ceilings may make it appear small, but there is nothing small about this place. It can be a little disconcerting for one trying to navigate out of the casino as it has numerous ways to enter and exit. However, I never let that slow me down. The only thing that does is the rapid fluctuation of the buy in's. Be sure to bring your A game and your pocketbook to this casino because odds of finding a table lower than a $10 buy-in is slim to none; especially as the day turns into evening.

I personally have not played many games in the Venetian other than a slot here or there. Did hit a small progressive jackpot, but nothing to get excited about. Would probably be enough to fill a Hummer with gas for a week nowadays. Any who, whether more high end gambling is your bag or if you just want a spot of luxury on your trip. Be sure to check out the casino at the Venetian. I guarantee it will be something worth remembering when returning home.

Although a very passionate entrepreneur in the fields of marketing and music, I also hold a daily full-time job as an analyst. I've had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas several times since turning 18. Sure, I've been there often, and there are no signs of stopping. Remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
